Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 30, 2026. This policy explains what the Engineering English iOS app collects, why, and what your choices are — in plain language.
Summary: your learning content lives on your device; we don't sell your personal data and the app shows no third-party ads. A small amount of data is processed to make purchases, analytics and the optional AI features work.
What the app collects
Learning progress
Your learned terms, streaks, statistics and settings are stored on your device.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage subscription status; we never see your card details. Payment data is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate usage (for example, which features are used and on what device types) so we can improve the app. This data is not used to identify you personally.
Account data (optional)
If you sign in, your e-mail address and synced learning data are stored securely so your progress can be restored across devices. You can use the core app without an account.
Microphone and speech recognition
Pronunciation practice uses the device microphone and Apple's speech recognition to check your pronunciation. Audio is processed for recognition and is not stored by us.
AI conversation and audio features
When you use the AI conversation simulation, the text of that conversation is sent to our AI service provider to generate a response. When premium audio is played, the term text is sent to a text-to-speech provider to generate the audio. These providers process the content to deliver the feature, not to build a profile of you.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not show third-party advertising.
- We do not access your contacts, photos or location.
Data retention and deletion
On-device data is deleted when you delete the app. To request deletion of any account or support data linked to you, email [email protected] and we will remove it.
Children
The app is intended for students and professionals and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
